Smartphones addiction

Hi I am Yobi.
Do you think you are a smartphone addictors(低頭族)?

Beginning in the late 2000s, smartphones has gained popularity all over the world and the number of users is rapidly increasing. Smartphones are mobile devices that enable internet access and communication. Users can access and get information on the web with the phone using cellular data.

Smartphone addiction is a term that is being more and more popular these years. It means those people who are always playig their phones or ipads. No matter where they are,no matter who they are being with, mobile phone is the only thing they have with themselves.Playing games, going to social networking sites, watching movies, chatting online are now a commonplace for all the people. Most of the time they only focus on their mobiles phone and sometimes ignore their friends and families, and this has resulted in an addiction that interferes with our daily lives.

Although smartphones make our lives more convenient,it does bring lots of negative effects.Mobile phones affect every aspect of the personal and professional lives of people with the addiction.I have once seen a picture on the internet that a group of people was having their dinner, however, everyone of them was looking down and focusing on their mobile phones.Do you wish to whatsapp somebody who is standing in front of you?Why cant we have a face-to-face communication with our families or friends instead of depending on mobile phones?
Smartphone addiction can also cause health problems.Repetitive and forceful movements of the hand and wrist during work or leisure activities can cause carpal tunnel syndrome.Besides, looking at the screen for a long period of time may make us headace or have eyes problems.

Is it a need to upload a photo to Facebook before we have our dinner?

Do you still remember the birthday date of your friends?Or Facebook tells you?

Do we still need to whatsapp somebody even they are standing in front of us?
Can you imagine that our future world will become a mobile phones oriented city?

  1. Yes, using of smartphones is a very serious phenomenon in Hong Kong which affects both people's health and communication. However, it seems that we cannot drop out from those unhealthy habits and the social circle in reality becomes smaller and smaller.
Btw. I love how you present the ideas through posting those lovely pictures!! :)

  2. I want to say that I am not a smartphone addictor. Although I have a smartphone, I would not keep on playing apps or chatting online. However, there are many smartphone addictors around us. Actually, I don't like smartphone addictors since they usually ignore their friends. They miss a lot such as beautiful scenery. Some people even claim that they cannot live without smartphone. I think that they should learn how to enjoy life. Try to look around instead of looking on your screen.
