Hi I am Yobi.
Halloween, which is a short form of ‘All Hallows’ Eve’. It is a traditional festival in the Western countries which is on the 31^st of October.Halloween is commonly connected with something supernatural and horrible. In Europe, people think that Halloween is the day that the ghosts can go to the peoples’ world.

萬聖夜是「All Hallows' Eve」的縮寫，設於10月31日，是西方國家的傳統節日。眾所周知，萬聖節是一個與超自然恐怖的節日。在歐洲,人們相信萬聖節當天鬼魂會最接近人類的世界。當晚小孩會穿上化妝服，戴上面具，挨家挨戶收集榶果。

                       

The theme of Halloween is ghosts,monsters,terrible,death,or even magic.And usually the things that we can imagine with Halloween is pumpkin,ghost,bat,witch,owl,skull,etc.

萬聖節的主題是鬼，怪物，可怕，死亡，甚至是魔法。南瓜，幽靈，蝙蝠，巫婆，貓頭鷹，顱骨等都是我們在萬聖節時能想像的事物。

Pumpkin is a symbol of Halloween because it is easier to carve logos on the pumpkin and quite a lot of families used the pumpkins as the lamps and hung outside the house to scare the ghosts off(according to a legend).

南瓜是萬聖節的象徵物，因為很容易就可以在南瓜上雕刻，很多家庭都會把南瓜刻成燈，掛在房子外面嚇唬鬼怪(據傳說所指)。

Trick-or-treat is a main activity in Halloween.Children will dress up as ghosts or monsters,finding their neighbours and shouting ‘Trick-or-treat!’ It is quite interesting that in the Scotland,when children want to get candies,they have to say ’the sky is blue,the grass is green,may we have our Halloween’ and also dance to get the candies,instead of wearing terrible costumes.

'不給糖就搗蛋'是萬聖節的一個主要活動。小孩子會將自己裝扮成鬼和怪物，然後找他們的鄰居，並高呼'不給糖就搗蛋'。很有趣的一件事就是，在蘇格蘭，當孩子想拿糖果時，他們要說'天空是藍色的，草是綠的，我們的萬聖節!'，而且他們要跳舞才能得到糖果，而不是穿著可怕的服飾。

With the time passes by,people nowadays are less likely to be scared by the ’fake ghosts’.Instead,they find that Halloween is a festival which is full of joy and fun.It has been a tradition that the 2 large theme parks in HK use Halloween as one of the themes.The two large theme park would employ somebody to act as ghosts and also construct ghost houses for people to play.

隨著時間，人們現在已不太可能被那些'假鬼'嚇壞，相反，他們發現萬聖節是一個充滿喜悅和樂趣的節日，香港的兩個大型主題公園沿用萬聖節作為主題一直是一個傳統，他們會在萬聖節時聘請人們扮作鬼怪和建造鬼屋給人們玩。
